Meanwhile… meets monthly to develop our storytelling skills, share tales and feedback (if desired) and to generally enjoy the ancient oral tradition! Each month we agree themes and focus points together, so the tale unfolds according to our collective needs and desires.
Anyone is welcome to drop in with no previous experience. Meanwhile is primarily a space to share stories in the oral tradition, develop our own skills and have fun together. All are welcome and all is subject to the whims of the story that is Meanwhile…
Meanwhile in the Old Hall Presents… Eric Maddern! With “Snowdonia Songlines”
This Thursday, 3rd March, we’re doing something a little different… Eric Maddern, Author of ‘Snowdonia Folk Tales’, maker of Cae Mabon Eco-Retreat Centre, is coming to visit and to share stories of the landscape of Wales. From Eric’s website:
“Snowdonia has long been a centre of magic and spiritual power. It is marked by standing stones, stone circles, burial chambers and hillforts. It was the hinterland of the ancient Druids. Some of the oldest surviving stories of Britain arose there – about the Enchantment of Bran, the Woman of Flowers, the Quest for Mabon, the Cauldron of Inspiration, Merlin and the Dragons… This evening Eric will take you on a walk through this mystical landscape and breathe life into these tales in an inspiring and original way.”
Come and hear the tales which shape the lands of Snowdonia!
Please note: Meeting in The Old Hall, Lampeter Uni, 7:30 – 10pm, Thursday 3rd March. Donations of £5 on the door.
We will have other performance evenings throughout the year, showcasing local and visiting storytellers. Our first was in December and had a wonderful atmosphere. Looking forward to an even better evening with Eric and yourselves!
Otherwise you can find us in the Wolfson Room, Old Building, Lampeter Uni, 7:30-9pm on the first Thursday of each month.
